How to Build a Capsule Wardrobe

Becoming “that girl” has been all over my Tik Tok for you page.

A common theme among all of them besides drinking exclusively

matcha lattes and ice rolling another theme I see is they are

wearing all neutrals, giving them a clean and sleek look and

undoubtedly make getting dressed in the mornings simple, which I

don’t know about you but I am personally tired of spending so

much time just staring at my closet to do this they use a capsule

wardrobe a capsule wardrobe does not necessarily mean only

wearing neutrals, but it is just limiting your color pallet and

finding what styles of clothing flatters you most.

Building a capsule wardrobe is a wonderful way to save

money and stop spending money on pieces that might never

leave your closet, this can be especially helpful for college

students or those who have little closet space, this will help

you save and not be as cluttered. A capsule wardrobe is

something I have recently adopted, and I cannot even imagine

the money I have saved so far. When building a closet like this

something to keep in mind is quality over quantity, you do not

want to buy your pieces off websites like SHEIN or

Forever21, H&M. Those pieces will not last, and you will end up having to repurchase them repeatedly which would defeat the whole purpose. Places I think have good basics are stores like Aritzia, Madewell, and skims. While yes, those stores are much more expensive you get what you pay for it, and it really is worth it. Of course, most of us cannot go out and buy a whole new wardrobe in one day this is something you can build up over time.

CAPSULE WARDROBE ESSENTIALS

SHOES

→ A good pair of white sneakers

→ Black boots

→ Loafers

TOPS

→ Black & white body suits

→ Black and white tank tops

→ Black and white tee shirts (long and short sleeve)

→ Chunky knit sweaters

→ Leather blazer

→ Blazer

→ Button downs

PANTS

→ A good quality pair of jeans in various washes ( light,medium,black or white) → Trousers

→ Leather pants

→ Denim shorts

MISC.

→ A good black bag

→ Black dress

→ Gold or silver jewelry

Obviously, you can add or take things out that better suit you or even add in color depending on the season. This method can seem really limiting to some people, but I think that once you start you will find it is much easier to get dressed and much easier to put outfits together.
